3rd grade students thanking a local Veteran. BIG thank you to Don White-Navy, George Mason-Army, Kenny Brown-Marines, and Carl Lewis-Navy

Way to go PVO Jr. High!

The 7th & 8th-grade students took advantage of an extra credit opportunity in Mrs. Mathis' language class. Each student had the opportunity to dress up in some way to represent an example of figurative language (idiom, pun, simile, personification, etc.). In these pictures, you'll see everything from the pun "baseball pitcher" to the idiom "chip on his shoulder" and even "It's raining cats and dogs." It's always such a fun day! Mrs. Mathis

We are honored to have Mr. Jeff Mathis as our jr. high Veteran’s Day speaker. Below is Mr. Mathis biography. Please feel free to come November 11 at 2pm to the Jr High School gymnasium.
My name is Jeff Mathis and I was born in Tolono, IL. I moved to Ogden in 6th grade and finished the rest of junior high there, so several of the PVO teacher are familiar faces for me. I graduated from St Joseph-Ogden High School in 2002. Shortly after graduating, I enlisted in the Army and completed basic and advanced training at Ft. Jackson in South Carolina. I was stationed at Ft Riley, KS for the duration of my enlistment with the exception of my 13 month deployment to Iraq. After getting out of the Army in December of 2006, I moved back to the area to further my education. In 2007, I married Mrs Mathis. In 2011, I received my bachelors degree from ISU in Exercise Science followed by my Masters degree in 2013. Along the way, we had 2 wonderful children. I am a member of the Local 149 Plumbers and Pipefitters and enjoy working with my hands to build anything from small projects to 24 story buildings. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my kids outdoors and playing sports

Please support our school and local business by attending and buying something at The Gathering at the Market!

We have a Veteran for our PVO jr high program. Mr Jeff Mathis will be speaking at the Jr high school at 2 pm on November 11. Please feel free to come to the Veterans program at the Jr high.

PVO is looking for a Veteran to speak at the Jr high school on November 11 at 2 pm for our Veterans Day program. Our speaker just cancelled on us because her work needs her to work that day. If you are interested, please call me (Mr. White) at 217-583-3300. Thank you!

Principal Appreciation week is October 21-25 and Principal’s Day is October 25! Please take some time to “Thank” your principal for all he has done for the students and PVO!

The 7th/8th PVO GBB vs Armstrong/Potomac on October 15 at 6:00 pm has been moved to the SJO HS. We are expecting a large crowd for Cory Abernathy’s fundraiser. Doors will open at 5:15 pm. We hope to see you at the game!
