Hello everyone! My name is Carl Heuer and I am very excited about the opportunity of joining the PVO school district. I will be the assistant principal, athletic director,as well as physical education, and science teacher at the junior high. Throughout my teaching career I have taught physical education grades 6-12 for the past 10 years at Villa Grove and Hoopeston Area. While serving Hoopeston Area the past 6 years, I was also the varsity and junior high baseball coach. My wife Jessica and I are residents of Ogden with with 3 young children. Our oldest child, Quinn, attends Kindergarten at PVO South Elementary. Rhett, age 4, is in pre-school, and Reeve will be turning 2 this month. I am very excited to meet all the students, parents, and staff this summer and throughout the upcoming school year.
GO MUSTANGS!!!!!

Hello! My name is Chaney Miller. I am so excited to be PVO South’s new fifth grade teacher! I am from the Champaign area and I am thrilled to be coming back home. I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. This will be my second year teaching. My first year was spent teaching in Sullivan, IL. I spend most of my free time with my family. Besides that, I enjoy going to concerts with friends, reading, and soaking up the sunshine as much as possible. I do have a pet rabbit, that I inherited while teaching at Sullivan. The students had named him Cricket for all the bouncing and jumping he does! I have such a passion for teaching and I can’t wait to share it with everyone. I look forward to becoming a part of Prairieview-Ogden’s community! I am incredibly excited to meet everyone soon

Preliminary results are 82,000' altitude. We will pull data when we get back to school.

Found it!!! Thanks to the home owner who picked it up and moved it out of the road.

Communication is back. Shorter than expected, so maybe it didn't get as high? Data recorder will tell the story.

Communication will resume after balloon burst and it begins falling back to Earth. This should occur in about 1 hour.

We have lost communication with the balloon. Not to worry, it is due to altitude exceeding GPS satellite range.

We launched at 9:35 am. The students working on the project have designed the payload to carry two cameras, a GPS device, and a data-logger, which will record altitude, temperature, pressure, and GPS coordinates of travel.
